Part of January's gardening advice: pruning an apple tree

This months gardening tasks include...

 

Plant early potatoes.

 

Prune Forsythia and Flowering Currant immediately after flowering.

 

Continue to remove seed heads of daffodils and other spring bulbs.

 

Continue throughout the month to plant out potatoes, shallots and onion sets.

 

A good time to start the slug treatment.

 

Plant out perennials preferably in 3s, 5s or 7s for maximum effect.

 

Spray roses.
